Ammon News - President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Nael Kabariti, on Wednesday discussed with Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Russian Federation in Amman, Ilya Bulgakov, ways to cement and expand economic cooperation between Jordan and Russia.
According to a JCC press release, Kabariti stressed the importance of building new bridges to enhance economic cooperation between Jordan and Russia, increase trade exchange and identify sectors of great importance to the two countries' markets.
Kabariti pointed out that the coronavirus pandemic has imposed enormous challenges to global trade flow which necessitates searching for new means to develop trade relations between the two countries.
In turn, Bulgakov said his country is keen to strengthen economic relations with Jordan, work jointly to increase the two-way trade, and stimulate the private sector to set up investments and take advantage of available opportunities in both nations.
He pointed out that "there is a desire" from the Russian side to invest in the Kingdom, especially in the sectors of information technology, agriculture and railways.
It was proposed during the meeting that the JCC and the Russian embassy exchange information on the most important sectors and opportunities available to both sides to encourage and increase trade exchange, in addition to holding a joint Jordanian-Russian-Syrian economic meeting.
