Ammon News - Saleh Sharabati, the Jordanian taekwondo champion who secured the Kingdom its second medal in the Olympics ever, arrived early Wednesday to a hero's welcome at the Queen Alia International Airport.
Sharabati won the sliver medal in the 80kg weight class at the Tokyo Olympics. He is the second Jordanian athlete to win an Olympic medal after Ahmad Abu Ghoush who won gold in the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Leading a welcoming ceremony at QAIA, HRH Prince Rashid Bin El Hassan, President of Jordan Taekwondo Federation, and his wife HRH Princess Zeina, congratulated Sharabati, his coach and other teammates on the achievement and said: "winning the silver medal in this international sporting event is also an incentive for more work and diligence in search of more achievements".
Sharabati told Petra that winning the silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics motivates him to work hard to score better achievements in the coming period.
