Ammon News - The Kingdom’s trade balance deficit with the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) increased by 51.8 percent to some JD705.8 million in the first 5 months of 2021, compared with JD464,8 million in the same period of 2020, the Department of Statistics (DoS) reported on Tuesday.
"The national exports to GAFTA countries in the January-May period of 2021 went up by 10.7 percent to JD784.2 million, compared with the same period of 2020 in which it reached JD708.2 million," the report added.
The national imports also climbed until May by 27 percent to JD1.490 billion, compared with JD1.173 billion in 2020, due to the increase in the Kingdom's imports of grains by 105.2 percent.
