Trade deficit goes up by 30.4% at end May

Ammon News - The trade deficit at end of May went up by 30.4 percent to JD3.200 billion compared with 2020’s JD2.454 billion, the Department of Statistics (DoS) said on Monday.

DoS figures showed that the value of total exports increased by 19.1 percent to JD2,381 billion at the end of May, compared to the same period last year, which amounted to JD1,999 billion, while the value of national exports increased during the same period, by 22.3 percent, or JD2,143 billion, compared to the same period last year, which amounted to JD1,752 billion.

The value of re-exported goods at the end of May amounted to JD238.3 million, a decrease of 3.3 percent, compared to the same period last year, which amounted to JD246 million, according to the DoS.
