Kingdom’s oil bill goes up by 10.8%

The Kingdom’s oil bill went up by 10.8 percent at the end of May compared with the same period of the year before, the Department of Statistics (DoS) announced on Monday.

According to the DoS monthly report, the oil bill amounted to about JD606.6 million by the end of May, compared to the same period last year, which amounted to JD547,5 million.

Crude oil topped the list of oil imports of the Kingdom with JD260 million, followed by JD126 million for diesel and JD9 million for lubricants, JD82 million for oil gases and JD125 million for oil derivatives (gasoline).

The value of imports rose by 25.3 percent at the end of May, reaching about JD5,581 billion compared to the same period last year.
