Ammon News - The Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Tuesday seized food labeling stamps and chemicals that were used to tamper with the production and expiration dates of food and other products.
JFDA Director General Nizar Mhaidat said in a press release that its supervision and inspection teams, in cooperation with the Preventive Security Department in the Public Security Directorate, had zeroed in on the house and vehicle of a person involved in the food fraud case after an investigation.
He said that a quantity of the foodstuffs in question was seized, including about 100 cartons of cake and biscuits and about 100 hair styling gels, with the actual production and expiry dates being erased and replaced with a fake date.
Mhaidat said his institution will take all necessary action, calling on the public to contact the JFDA for any complaints.
