Ammon News -

Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Sunday ordered government stakeholders to step up inspection visits to businesses and markets to ensure full adherence to infection prevention controls and health safety measures especially before and during the Eid Al Adha holiday.

"To think the coronavirus pandemic is over is wrong," the prime minister told a Cabinet meeting dedicated to discussing the current epidemiological situation at home and at the regional and global levels where new variants of the virus are causing more infections.

Despite a stable epidemiological situation locally, the prime minister warned that "the failure to adhere to safety and prevention measures may expose us to a setback - God forbid", stressing "We do not have the luxury of returning to closures again."

Khasawneh stressed the need to continue campaigns that urge citizens to receive vaccinations, and to speed up the demand for them, as the most effective way to arrive at a safe summer, and for all sectors to return to work as normal, while ensuring adherence to safety and prevention measures.
