Real estate trade volume increased by 11% to June 2021

Ammon News - The real estate trade volume in the Kingdom increased by 11 per cent in the first half of 2021, compared with the same period of 2019 to reach JD2.251 billion, the Department of Land and Survey (DLS) announced on Thursday.

The department's revenues in the first six months of 2021 amounted to JD92.2 million, compared with the same period of 2019, witnessing a drop of 13 per cent, according to the DLS's monthly report.

The department said comparisons were made in the real estate market indicators for the first half of 2021 with the corresponding periods in 2019, due to Covid-19 pandemic-induced effects on the official working hours in 2020.

On the monthly level, the volume of trading in the Kingdom's real estate market for June amounted to approximately JD603 million, an increase of 123% , compared to the same month in 2019.

Value of DLS's June revenues recorded an increase of 75%, compared to the same month of 2019, reaching about JD24.4 million, the report showed.

During the first half 2021, real estate sales in the Kingdom soared by 55%, as apartment and land sales increased by 39%, and 60%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2019, according to the report.
