Jordan phosphate company, chlorine industries sign memo

Ammon News - The Jordan Phosphate Mines Co. (JPMC) and the National Chlorine Industries Co. (NCI) Tuesday signed a memo on recycling and manufacturing the Phosphogypsum byproduct and turning it into chemical products.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by JPMC CEO Abdul Wahab Rowad and Chairman of the NCI Board of Directors Khalil Abou Al Rab.

Phosphogypsum is a byproduct used to produce phosphoric acid. Recycling Phosphogypsum and disposing of it would contribute to conserving the environment and play into the JPMC and NCI efforts.

The JPMC has produced a plethora of research papers on how to best leverage Phosphogypsum in agriculture and construction.
