The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned opening of a Honduran embassy in Jerusalem on Thursday.
In a press statement, the ministry's official spokesperson, Dhaifallah Fayez, said the opening of Honduras's embassy in Jerusalem is "a rejected and condemned step," and a "grave" breach of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, stressing that any measures aimed at changing Jerusalem's status quo, or its legal status, are "null and illegal."
Fayez indicated that achieving a just and comprehensive peace is the only way to the two-state solution that establishes the independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital, based on international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
