Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hunaifat on Wednesday met with the Regional Representative of the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, Elizabeth Mello, and discussed with her cooperation between Jordan and the U.S. in the agricultural domain.
The minister highlighted a number of joint and U.S.-funded projects in the Kingdom, which include water harvesting, veterinary quarantine, and a pesticide residues laboratory project in the Jordan Valley.
He also spoke about his ministry's plans to empower rural families, strengthen extension services, expand farmers' marketing channels, and enable them to access new markets.
The U.S. official stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation and paid tribute to the ministry's efforts to develop agriculture in the Kingdom.
