Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Naif Sudairi Monday called a conference in Amman to explore investment opportunities in the two countries.
In a meeting in the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI), Sudairi said the purpose of the proposed conference is to familiarize investors in Saudi Arabia and Jordan with the investment opportunities in the two countries and boost investment partnerships.
He noted moving the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC's) HQ from Beirut to Amman is a message of the importance of Jordan as an investment destination, adding Jordan is the main exporter to Saudi Arabia.
Saudi investments in Jordan amount to over USD 13 billion in transport, infrastructure, energy and tourism, according to ACI official figures.
For his part, ACI Fathi Jaghbir said Jordan-Saudi ties are "deep-rooted" and highlighted oil trade volume between the two countries amounts to USD 2 billion, placing Saudi Arabia among Jordan's top trading partners.
Saudi Arabia is the second-largest exporter to Jordan and also the second-largest importer of Jordanian products, Jaghbir added.
