Ammon News - Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) agents have thwarted an attempt to smuggle 150,000 narcotic pills hidden inside cargo vehicle, which are prepared for smuggling outside of the Kingdom, and arrested the suspects involved in the operation.

The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said the AND were tipped off that three people are storing a "large" amount of narcotic pills in secret compartments inside a cargo vehicles in preparation for smuggling them outside the Kingdom, Petra reported.

By following up on investigation, the AND personnel ascertained the information, identified the suspects involved in the operation and the location of the freight vehicle in one of the capital's eastern region, the spokesperson added.

In a raid, the AND found 150,000 narcotics pills and arrested the suspects, and an investigation is underway into the incident, the police official said.
