Ammon News - Deputizing for Prime Minister, Bishr Khasawneh, Minister of State for Media Affairs, Sakher Dudin, on Saturday attended the golden jubilee celebration of the Jordanian Press Foundation (Al Rai newspaper), Petra reported.

Dudin, who is also the government official spokesman, conveyed the premier’s congratulations and said Al Rai is a "Press Icon" and a great national media institution that has provided significant services for more than five decades and made national, intellectual, knowledge and cultural contributions that will remain in the history of the Jordanian press, and in the national media memory, according to Petra.

"On this occasion, we recall the honorable history of one of our most prestigious national media institutions, and look forward to the future together, focusing our efforts, and our fruitful cooperation, to overcome obstacles and challenges facing the newspaper's operations, in order to remain the voice of the nation's conscience, the citizens' concerns, and the nation's issues," Dudin added.

"In light of its duty and responsibilities and its role in maintaining the sustainability of our national media platforms," Dudin underlined that the government is actively and seriously seeking, on a daily basis, in coordination and cooperation with all parties, to crystallize immediate, urgent and sustainable solutions to solve the problems Al Rai newspaper and other Jordanian press institutions are facing, hoping to soon reach good and satisfactory results that guarantee the enhancement of their financial revenues and the sustainability of their operations.

"There is another responsibility must be assumed by the management of all our press institutions, which is the need to develop work mechanisms and seek to develop convincing and professional tools of influence and keep pace with the developments of the times and the requirements of modernity and digitization in terms of form and content and the gradual shift towards digital journalism with all its many manifestations and branches," the minister underlined.

He added that this trend guarantees a competitive place for them in the midst of the rapid development in communication technologies, which has changed the media landscape around the world.

He stressed the need to look to the future in order to achieve the newspaper's financial sustainability, noting that this would be achieved to keep pace with the technical transformation, the development of digital content, and the employment of modern technology, which has become the basis for media marketing.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials, national media figures and the newspaper's employees.
