Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Nasser Shraideh, on Tuesday presented the economic reforms matrix in Jordan, to representatives of the private sector, during an introductory session.
Representatives from the industrial, commercial and investment sectors participated in the session, and they were briefed on key reforms implemented in economic and financial fields within the matrix of reforms 2018-2024, and a set of economic challenges in the current stage, especially in light of the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to the reforms under implementation.
"This session aims to enhance coordination with the private sector to support the reform and growth process, and to consult with its representatives to ensure that these reforms are consistent with the requirements of the business environment and the desired investments," Shraideh said Tuesday in a statement.
Shraideh reaffirmed Jordan's continuation and the government's commitment to implementing planned economic and financial reforms despite the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and according to the reform matrix, which was launched at the London Conference initiative in 2019 with the aim of improving the business environment, developing government services and contributing to economic recovery.
He noted that the reform matrix was reviewed in line with the government's indicative executive program, with a special focus on reform priorities after Covid-19.
