Ammon News - Some 12,000 people have received the first COVID-19 shot in the Maan governorate since the start of the national immunization campaign, said Amjad Abu Darwish, Director of the local Health Department.
In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Thursday, Abu Darwish indicated that 3,000 people have received the second dose of the vaccine, pointing that out of the total number of people registered on the national platform, 17 percent defaulted on their first-shit appointments, while only 5 percent defaulted on the second dose.
He underlined that there are five approved immunization centers under the Health Department in the Maan, Shobak, Hussainiya, and Jafr areas, adding that 10 epidemiological inspection teams are assigned to the Maan governorate.
Although the turnout rate at the centers is 'noticeable,' Abu Darwish still urged the public to register on the national vaccination platform to reach a healthy and safe community.
