19 poor families receive keys to new homes under Royal Initiative

Ammon News - Nineteen underprivileged families in Karak and the Southern Jordan Valley Saturday received the keys to their new homes as part of the Royal Initiative to house poor and low-income families across the Kingdom and secure a decent life for them.

The initiative, which was launched under royal directives in 2005 and includes all the governorates of the Kingdom, aims to provide a decent and stable life for families who are considered the most needy, and who are eligible under fair and transparent criteria set by the Ministry of Social Development.

During a ceremony, Royal Court Chief and head of the committee to follow up on the Implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah's Initiatives Yousef Issawi handed over the keys of the fully-furnished homes to the beneficiary families in the areas of Zahoum, A'yy and the Southern Jordan Valley.

A disabled man also received his specially designed home during the ceremony, which was attended by Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Kasbi, Minister of Social Development Ayman Mufleh and Karak Governor Bilal Nsour.

The housing units were distributed to impoverished families in Karak Governorate upon the directives of His Majesty the King, who ordered their construction and who always directs that channels remain open with all citizens in all areas and to work to improve their living conditions and provide a decent life to them, Issawi said in remarks.

He said the King had ordered that these families spend the Eid Al-Fitr holidays in their new homes with the hope to find comfort and tranquility.
