Awqaf minister denounces assaults on worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Ammon News - Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalaileh, on Friday, condemned Israeli forces’ storming of Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif and attacking the worshipers during al-Taraweeh prayer in the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement, the minister said such actions provoked the feelings of some two billion Muslims across the world, and resulted in hundreds of injuries, including employees at the Jordanian-run Waqf (endowments) and Al-Aqsa Affairs Administration in Jerusalem.

The statement praised the steadfastness of the Jerusalemites, stressing that the Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Al-Haram Al-Sharif in occupied Jerusalem is a purely place of worship for Muslims.
