Ammon News - Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Saturday visited the Central Vegetables and Fruits Market, the Kingdom's largest agro produce wholesale market located in eastern Amman, and ordered competent authorities to automate all operations to better serve venders and farmers.
While touring the various facilities of the market, the prime minister emphasized that agricultural products must be offered to citizens at affordable prices and high quality. Moreover, Khasawneh called for expanding handling areas in the market to ensure efficiency and better services.
Officials said the market handles about 3,500 tons of agro produce, assuring that the amount is enough to meet the Kingdom's daily needs at normal price ranges.
The premier also visited a laboratory set up by the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) at the market to ensure inbound and outbound cargo meets standards.
While in the area, the prime minister visited the Amman Customs Center and learned firsthand about the services offered at the facility, which serves as a one-stop-shop for multiple government services.
