Army chief: prince Hamzah was asked to stop activities that would threaten Jordan security and stability

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, Major General Yousef Huneiti on Saturday said that Prince Hamazah has not been detained as some news websites claimed.

Huneiti said that Prince Hamzah has been told to stop activities that would threaten the security and stability of Jordan after comprehensive investigations have been conducted by security agencies.

As a result of the investigations, Sharif Hassan bin Zaid, Bassem Awadallah and others have been arrested.

Huneiti added that the investigation is still underway and the results will be announced in a transparent and clear way.

Huneiti stressed that all measures conducted according to law, stating that no one is above the law, and Jordan security is the top priority.
