Jordan house speaker, Egyptian envoy talk ties, cooperation

Jordan's Speaker of the Lower House Abdulmunim Oddat and the Egyptian Ambassador Sherif Kamel had talks in Amman Monday on bilateral ties and the trilateral summit between Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.

The meeting focused on the importance of building on the trilateral meeting that saw the participation of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kadhimi.

Oddat emphasized the importance of His Majesty the King and Madbouly's meeting on March 23 and the meetings between Jordanian, Iraqi and Egyptian officials to bring the agreements between the three signatory countries into effect. 

He underscored the Jordanian-Egyptian ties and reiterated Jordan's keenness to strengthen them.

He said that Jordan and Egypt see eye to eye on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as both countries stressed strong support for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state.

In turn, Madbouly said Cairo is keen on strengthening Jordan-Egypt ties, adding that the Jordanian, Egyptian and Iraqi projects are highly important, especially as the region is going through exceptionally tough circumstances.
