Ammon News - Gordon Ramsay took to TikTok to show his 22 million followers how to make a vegan steak using an aubergine in a video that has racked up more than 13 million views.

Gordon Ramsay has stunned fans after he confessed he is "turning vegan" - but all was not as it seemed.

The 54-year-old celebrity chef, who is famous for both his love of meat and his blasé attitude, shared how he makes a vegan steak on TikTok in light of the announcement.

In a video that has racked up more than 13 million views on the social media platform, Gordon told his 22 million followers: "Hi guys, it’s Gordon. I’ve got a confession.

"After three decades of cooking, hundreds and hundreds and thousands of hours behind the stove, I’m turning vegan."

He then goes on to share his take on a "vegan steak."

After charing an aubergine, he seasons and oils it generously.

He adds red wine to a saucepan and reduces it before adding butter - which he assures fans is vegan - and the aubergine, before basting.

He serves the aubergine with mash, adds garnish and pours over a sauce to complete the dish.

But as the tutorial comes to an end it's clear that Gordon isn't giving up meat for good as he revealed that he went vegan 'for lunch, only'.

He also made a dig at another TikTok user 'That Vegan Teacher,' otherwise known as Kadie Karen Diekmeyer, after she was banned for forcing veganism on her followers.

In the caption of his video, Gordon wrote: "That Vegan Teacher where are yo——oh wait," and fans were in hysterics.

Since being posted, the video has racked up more than 3.3 million likes and almost 46,000 comments from fans.

One person said: "Thank God he said for lunch."

Another commented: "Damnn he really did that."

"Omg! Almost had me there," added a third.

And someone else put: "I GOT SCARED WHEN I HEARD 'I'm turning vegan.'"

Whilst another commented: "Gordon really out here getting the last laugh."
