Ammon News - The Tunisian ambassador to Jordan, Khaled Suhaili, said the Tunisia-Jordanian relations are "a model to follow".
In a press conference held on Saturday, on the occasion of Tunisia's National Day, he said "deep-rooted" bilateral ties stem from the two countries' "strong" desire to enhance them to the level of "active" partnership.
To maintain momentum, the envoy stressed the need to hold bilateral cooperation talks "regularly and periodically" and follow up on implementation of the recommendations emanating from the joint higher committees.
On future action to enhance ties, the diplomat stressed that his country is looking forward to holding the 10th session of the Joint Higher Committee in Amman, in addition to the 3rd session of the Committee for Political Consultation at the level of the two countries' foreign ministers.
Recently, he said the bilateral relations witnessed action at the level of convening the sectoral joint committees in the military fields, the mutual recognition of conformity certificates, the preparation and completion of industrial and investment cities, consumer protection, the environment, energy and electricity, in implementation of the recommendations made by the Joint Higher Committee and in activation of the agreements between the two sides.
Many agreements were signed, and the third session of the Joint Business Council (Connect / Jordanian Businessmen Association(JBA)) was held, referring to preparations for another council session between the Tunisian Union for Trade, Industry and Handicrafts (UTICA) and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) on April 6, according to the envoy.
Suhaili noted these positive steps signal to the growing bilateral relations, thanks to the two countries leaderships' keenness to strengthen the joint partnership in various fields and sectors, as well as the shared positions and views on regional and international issues of common interest, which would pave the way for a "prosperous era of fruitful cooperation" between the two countries, based on "effective" partnership to serve common interests.
