Ammon News - The Ministry of Transport is mulling plans to extend fee reliefs to public transport operators after they were ordered to slash seating by 50 percent as part of measures taken by the government to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
Following protests by some public transport operators on the seating reduction order, Minister Wajeeh Azizeh told Petra Saturday that the government is well aware of the pandemic's impact on the transportation sector and will extend every possible support to it.
He indicated that the government was obliged to reduce seating in public transport given the current epidemiological situation, noting that the seating capacity will return to normal after the end of this month.
