Ammon News - Under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, 6 underprivileged families received their newly-refurbished homes in the southern Amman district of Mugabalin after their maintenance and refurbishment, under the royal housing initiative, in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO).

Launched upon a royal directive in 2005 to include all governorates of the Kingdom, the initiative aims to provide a decent and stable life for the most needy families, who are selected according to fair and transparent criteria by the Ministry of Social Development.

Royal Court Chief, head of the committee to follow up on the implementation of royal initiatives Yousef Issawi, handed over the keys of the fully furnished homes to beneficiary families during a ceremony attended by Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Al-Kasbi and Minister of Social Development, Ayman Al-Mufleh.

In Madaba Governorate, south of Amman, Issawi inaugurated the women's development centre, which includes the gathering of Jordanian National Women's Committees and the Jordanian Women's Federation, that serves the women's sector in the region and empower them.

Accompanied by the ministers and the Madaba governor, the Royal Court chief toured the facilities of the center, which was established in implementation of the King's directives during his previous meetings with the people in the governorate, and was briefed on the programs and courses it offers.

King Abdullah constantly underlines the importance of the leading role of Jordanian women in the comprehensive development process, and the need to support women in the various governorates and regions of the Kingdom, and build their capacity as an influential component of society.

Issawi also inspected the Madaba Industrial City project, which His Majesty King Abdullah II laid the foundation stone for during a visit to the governorate in 2016 with the aim of attracting investments to the region and providing job opportunities for the local people.

The Royal Court Chief told Petra that His Majesty constantly directs that work be accelerated for development in local communities to help improve the quality of life, in addition to women's empowerment and improving the economic conditions of target groups.
