JAF harnesses all capabilities, resources to maintain Jordan's border security

Ammon News - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major Gen. Yousef Huneiti, said the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces - the Arab Army (JAF) will harness all capabilities, and resources to keep the Kingdom's borders "safe," and chase down whoever attempts to tamper with the nation's assets, or undermine its security.
The JAF will align its strategies to ensure that infiltration and smuggling operations are prevented by force, the Army chief said during his visit on Wednesday to the Eastern Military Region and the elite units deployed about a week ago to bolster the border guard forces.
The new deployments consist of rapid response and special operations units from the King Hussein bin Ali Brigade, armed with advanced military machinery, bolstered by the Royal Air Force aircrafts, to ensure preparedness around the clock to deal with all potential threats to serve the border security system to enhance its capabilities to protect the homeland and defend borders, according to a JAF statement issued earlier.
Speaking to the Eastern Military Region's personnel, Huneiti stressed the need to deal "firmly" with any border infiltrators, highlighting the importance of orchestrating efforts between the newly-deployed elite units and the border guard forces, to achieve the desired goals in preventing infiltration and smuggling operations within their areas of duty.
