Amman Municipality marks Amman Day, Jordan's centenary

The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), as part of its centenary celebrations, launched on Tuesday the activities celebrating the Amman Day, which marks the arrival of His Majesty the late Founding King Abdullah I in Amman on March 2, 1921, marking the establishment of the Jordanian state.

To celebrate the occasion, the GAM distributed flags and brochures to citizens, in addition to decorating the streets and the Municipality’s buildings with flags, and lighting the house of His Majesty the late King Talal, the GAM's buildings, the Abdoun bridge, the Citadel, the Roman Amphitheater, and a number of other sites.

The Jordan Radio, the Hawa Amman Radio, and other radio stations held a joint broadcast this morning to commemorate the Amman Day and the Kingdom's centenary.
