18 illegal logging cases reported in Aqaba in 2020

Ammon News - Aqaba agriculture department personnel have reported 18 illegal logging cases during the period between in 2020. Jamal Oran, the department’s head, on Saturday highlighted the departments’ ongoing efforts towards combating such illegal acts, calling on the public to report any violations that threaten trees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Under the law, illegal loggers face a six-month prison and a fine that is three times the value of the logged trees, be it from a public or private property.
