Cold weather forecast today

Ammon News - A slight drop in temperatures is forecast on Monday, becoming around thier annual average, so it will be cold in most regions, and fair in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Clouds at low-altitudes are also forecast to appear with a weak chance of light showers in the northern and central areas of the country, while winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, the JMD said.

The weather department warned of poor visibility, due to fog and dust formation in the early morning and late night hours over the highlands and the Badia regions, and of slippery roads in the areas experiencing rain.

Similar weather conditions will continue to persist on Tuesday, with low clouds and southwesterly moderate winds, the JMD added.

On Wednesday, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold and wet air mass accompanying a depression, pushing mercury down and bringing cold and partly cloudy weather with intermittent rain in the evening over the northern and central highlands, stretching to cover the southwestern areas, the JMD predicted.

Temperatures in Amman today will reach a high of 14 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 5C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a fair 23C, dipping to 12C during night hours.
