Ammon News - The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) and Qatar Charity on Tuesday launched the second phase of the "Warmth and Peace" campaign designed to extend winter and hygiene essentials to Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as needy Jordanian families.
In a statement, JHCO said the second phase of the initiative, which was launched in November, targets more than 1,758 refugee and Jordanian families or 9,000 individuals, indicating that the assistance includes food, accommodation, heaters and fuel, clothes and blankets.
Additionally, the beneficiaries will receive sanitary and hygiene supplies and sanitizers given the current circumstances imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.
"We continue to implement winter projects for the benefit of Syrian and Palestinian refugees and needy Jordanian families in the various governorates and in Palestinian refugee camps," said JHCO Assistant Secretary-General, Muhammad Nasser Al-Kilani.
Director of Qatar Charity Office in Amman Munther Haj Hassan noted that the "Warmth and Peace" campaign aims to provide for the needs of 200,000 beneficiaries over the course of the three-month campaign and address the humanitarian conditions resulting from the coronavirus crisis.
