Culture Minister, Turkish envoy discuss organize joint activities on Jordan centennial

Ammon News - Minister of Culture, Bassem Tweissi, on Monday met with Turkey Ambassador to Jordan, Ismail Aramaz, for a discussion on ways of cooperation in the culture filed between the two countries in order to organize joint activities, as part of celebrations of the centennial of the foundation of the Jordanian state.
During the meeting that was held at the National Library of Jordan, in the presence of its Director General, Nidal Ayasrah, the minister lauded the historic ties between the two countries, expressing hope to develop Jordanian-Turkish cultural relations.
Talks dealt with organizing a photo exhibition at the National Library of Jordan on March 8, in cooperation with the Yunus Emre Cultural Center on the occasion of the centennial of the Jordanian state, which includes the Yildiz Palace collection that contains a number of Jordanian landmarks, in addition to a classic Turkish concert on oriental instruments, including songs in both Arabic and Turkish.
The exhibition coincides with a lecture by the Turkish historian, Professor Melik Ozetigen, on the relevance, location and methods of photographing the images between 1890 and 1900.
The meeting also discussed the translation and issuance of a set of books that the ministry intends to issue on this occasion into the Turkish language through Turkish institutions and publishing houses, and the organization of a discussion session on the history of the region with the participation of Turkish figures and Jordanian historians.
For his part, the ambassador lauded ties and common history between the two countries, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries, enhancing communication between their intellectuals, and implementing joint programs.
At the end of the meeting, Tweissi escorted the ambassador on a tour of photo exhibitions on Jordanian-Turkish relations since the forties of the last century, Jerusalem and the Al Karamah battle.
