Representative of the foodstuff sector in the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Raed Hamadeh, stressed the importance of the Jordanian participation in the "Gulfood 2021", which opened on Sunday in Dubai.

On the sidelines of the opening of the Jordanian pavilion participating in the exhibition, Hamadeh said the exhibition is a real opportunity to promote commercial opportunities available in the Kingdom and building partnerships with international companies.

The commercial sector is keen on permanent participation in the exhibition due to its great reputation and importance, especially in its current session, which comes in exceptional circumstances due to the consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The participation of the Jordanian delegation, which includes many representatives of economic entities and Jordanian commercial companies operating in the foodstuff and restaurant sector, constitutes an important opportunity to enhance cooperation and develop economic ties between Jordan and countries participating in the food field, especially with the United Arab Emirates.

He indicated that "Gulfood" is the largest annual commercial event in the field of food and its processing, and is attended by visitors from various countries of the world. It represents a real opportunity for Jordanian commercial companies operating in the foodstuff sector and restaurants to create commercial partnerships with international companies through bilateral meetings and introducing Jordanian food products.

In Jordan, the foodstuff sector constitutes 30 percent of the commercial sector and includes more than 50,000 establishments operating throughout the Kingdom.
