Al-Wala Dam water test results to emerge today, or tomorrow

Ammon News - Secretary-General of the Ministry of Environment, Mohammed Khashnah, said report of the water samples taken from the Al-Wala dam-some 40 km south of Amman city- in the central Madaba governorate, the treatment plant south of Amman, and Zarqa River Basin (ZRB), will be released on Sunday, or tomorrow, in cooperation with the Royal Scientific Society (RSS).
Speaking to "Petra," he said the water samples tested will show whether there is contamination or not, by comparing the results with the previous reports, especially after citizens complain that Al Wala dam's water color has changed.
Noting the tight monitoring over water resources, in cooperation with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), tourism and environmental directors in the target districts, to prevent any contamination that may occur to the dam, such as wastewater leaks.
During the morning session of the Lower House today, Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, said the Ministry of Environment has taken samples from Al-Wala Dam for testing, and the Cabinet will be informed of the samples results.
