Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordanian sources refuted news reported by some agencies that Jordanian Special Commandos Units are participating in the Saudi military operations against Houthi rebels on the Saudi-Yemeni borders.
Nahrain Net News Agency had reported on Tuesday that two Jordanian Special Forces units were deployed on Monday to take part in Saudi operations against Houthis, which began last Wednesday instigated by Houthi infiltration into Saudi territories.
The news reported by Nahrain Net had mentioned that the number of Jordanian troops reached 450 Special Forces soldiers and officers, and are expected to reach 1500 by the end of the week.
Jordan had officially condemned Houthi infiltration into Saudi territory and voiced its support of Saudi sovereignty and Saudi Arabia's right to defend its national security.
Informed sources in Jordan however denied that any Jordanian forces are participating in the Saudi operations, adding that such reports have an objective of meddling with Jordan's relations with regional countries and instigating fabricated rumors to harm Jordan's image in the region.
The biased agencies report such fabricated news to serve the agenda of entities antagonistic towards Jordan, the Jordanian sources noted.
