Ammon News - Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh mourned the passing of former minister of Public Works and Housing Abdul Haddi Al Majali, who passed away on Wednesday.
The premier also extended his condolences to the Majali family, paying tribute to the former minister's great efforts in serving his country, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Majali, born in 1934, was minister of Public Works and Housing, and served as Lower House Speaker, in addition to being member of the two chambers of Parliament. Moreover, Majali served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, director of the Public Security Directorate and ambassador to the US.
Also on Wednesday, Senate President Faisal Fayez and Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat expressed condolences to the Majali family, recalling his contributions to the nation, Petra added.
Deputising for the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), Brig. Gen. Ali Doumi, assistant for administration and human forces at the JAF, participated in Majali’s funeral in Karak.
High-ranking officers from the JAF and Public Security Directorate, retired service personnel, officials and citizens from various parts of the Kingdom also took part in the funeral in Yarout town in Karak.
