Jordan records 9 COVID-19 related deaths, 730 infections on Friday

A total of 9 new COVID-19 related deaths and 730 cases of the coronavirus disease was recorded in Jordan, a statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Health Ministry said on Friday.

Amman saw 407 new infections followed by Irbid 161, Zarqa 58, Karak 24, Balqaa 20, Mafraq 19, Jerash 12, Tafila 11, Ajloun 8, Aqaba 7, and 3 in Madaba.

The number of cases admitted and discharged from hospitals today stood at 41 and 62, respectively.

With regard to testing, 18,372 tests were conducted Friday, 3.97 percent of which were positive. The total number of tests conducted since March has increased to 3,678,331.
