The Lower House's Legal Committee approved draft laws on extradition agreements and interstate treaties signed with Ukraine to extradite convicted persons and exchange mutual legal assistance in criminal, civil matters.
Chairing the committee's session held on Wednesday, House Speaker, Abdel Moneim Awdat, referred to the importance of the agreements, treaties concluded with Ukraine to serve common interests.
For his part, the committee's head, MP Mohammed Hilal, said the judicial agreements with Ukraine were approved after an "extensive" discussion of their terms.
Minister of Justice, Bassam Talhouni, who attended the debates, said the agreements aim to launch Jordanian-Ukrainian cooperation in the legal, and judicial fields, and achieve common interests.
The agreements, the minister noted, "do not affect Jordan's sovereignty, and do not conflict with the Constitution and their provisions are only implemented by the two countries' unanimity."
Earlier, the Ukrainian Parliament had approved the judicial agreements with Jordan.
