The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has condemned on Wednesday, the Israeli authorities' decision to float tenders to build 2572 new settler units in several settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a press statement, the ministry's spokesperson, Dhaifallah Fayez, said settlement activities are illegitimate, illegal, and rejected, and are a "flagrant" and "grave" violation of international law, foremost of which is UN Security Council Resolution No. 2334.
Israel's settlement policy as a whole is a violation of international law and undermines the foundations of peace, efforts to make it, and the chances of a two-state solution based on international legitimacy resolutions, according to Fayez.
Fayez called on the international community to act and assume its responsibilities to pressure Israel to stop its settlement policies and activities.
