Senate chief, Kuwaiti and Syrian envoys discuss ties

Ammon News - Senate President Faisal Fayez Monday separately met with the Kuwaiti and Syrian ambassadors for a discussion of various aspects of relations with their countries.

In a meeting with Kuwaiti envoy Aziz Dihani, Fayez commended the level of Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties, which he described as deep, historic and based on mutual respect, which constitute a model for joint Arab cooperation.

The Kuwaiti envoy said the Gulf Arab state is keen on cementing relations with the Kingdom.

Fayez also told Syrian acting ambassador Issam Yanal that Jordan backs a unified Syria, reiterating the Kingdom's position since the start of the Syrian crisis that supports a political solution that safeguards the country's unity, ends the suffering of its people and enables displaced people to return to their homes.

He stressed the importance of enhancing relations, calling for facilitating trade between Jordan and Syria via the land crossings.
