Lower House's committees to debate draft, amending laws

 The Lower House has referred to its Finance Committee the two draft laws of the 2021 state budget, and the budgets of government units.


After the House referred a number of draft, amending laws sent by the government to its respective permenant committees, its Legal Committee will debate draft laws to ratify 2020 treaties on criminal extradition and mutual legal assistance in civil, and criminal matters, signed between Jordan and Ukraine.
The same panel will also look into the amending items of the Dental Association Law and Jordan Anti-Corruption Commission (JACC), and will debate draft laws of Combating Money Laundering and Financing Terrorism, and State Property Preservation.


Meanwhile, the House's Economic and Investment Committee will debate a draft law to ratify 2020 partnership agreement between Jordan, Britain and Northern Ireland, which the government has requested "urgency."


Information Exchange and Disclosure Draft Law, in addition to the amending bills of Cities and Villages Development Bank, and Investment Law, will be debated by the same economic panel, provided that the latter is discussed after the endorsing the general budget, to avoid the constraints contained in the Constitution's Article 112.


An amending bill, submitted to the same panel, will regulate 2019 Insurance Business, which the Senate has sent back to the Economy and Investment Committee, while Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) law will be reviewed by a joint legal and administrative committee.


The House also referred to its Administrative Committee the amending law on restructuring government institutions and departments, while the Public Services Committee will discuss amendements to Development of Professional and Technical Skills bill, however amendments of Civil Aviation and the Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) will be debated by to a joint services and tourism committee.


The Council also referred the amending law of the Agricultural Risk Management Fund to its Agriculture and Water Committee, and the amendments of Audit Bureau were sent to a joint finance and legal committee.
