In a press statement, the media spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said the fatally injured police serviceman was evacuated to the hospital, however succumbed to his wound shortly. A committee was formed to investigate the accident and find out the shooting circumstances, the police official said.

An on-duty security police officer has died on Thursday evening in the capital Amman, after accidentally shooting himself.

In a press statement, the media spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said the fatally injured police serviceman was evacuated to the hospital, however succumbed to his wound shortly.

A committee was formed to investigate the accident and find out the shooting circumstances, the police official said.
