Ammon News - The Ministry of Transport on Tuesday announced the lifting of restrictions imposed on Jordanian trucks transiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant authorities.

In a press briefing, Transport Minister Marwan Khitan said that contacts are currently under way with Qatari authorities in order to grant Jordanian trucks and refrigerators visas to enter Qatar.

He added that Jordan is striving with all its “brothers” in the Arab Gulf to overcome obstacles facing transport and mobility and implement the land transport agreements signed with Gulf countries.

Khitan noted that Jordan allowed Saudi trucks to enter the Jordanian territory, deliver their goods to their final destination, and allow them to be loaded on the return trip.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Transport had earlier contacted the Omani authorities to take a decision to remove all restrictions imposed on Jordanian trucks and allow them to enter Oman.
