Thirty-three coronavirus deaths and 1,176 cases were recorded across the Kingdom Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 4,076 and the caseload to 309,846, according to the Ministry of Health.
The new infections were: 477 in Amman, 250 in Irbid, including 12 in Ramtha district, 108 in Balqa, 105 in Mafraq, 76 in Zarqa, 40 in Jerash, 26 in Karak, 25 in Aqaba, 25 in Ajloun, 16 in Tafileh, 15 in Madaba and 13 in Ma'an, including 4 in Petra, the ministry said in the daily media brief issued with the Prime Ministry.
It said that the number of currently active cases reached 13,666, while 59 were admitted to hospitals today and 71 were discharged.
The report said that 461 confirmed cases are hospitalized and the number of isolation beds in hospitals used for confirmed and suspected cases yesterday was 397, at an occupancy rate of 9%.
It also said that 1,674 COVID-19 patients in home isolation and hospitals recovered today, bringing the total number of recoveries to 292,104.
The report said that 24,238 swab tests were taken today, bringing the total since the outbreak began to 3,463,184, pointing out that the positivity rate today was about 4.85 per cen.
The Ministry urged adherence to defense orders and to follow preventive measures, including wearing masks and avoiding gatherings of more than 20 people, and the awareness campaign launched by the ministry to prevent infection.
