Minister of State for Media Affairs Ali Al-Ayed said Monday that despite the meagre resources and challenges, Jordan has over one hundred years since its establishment made enormous achievements, thanks to the efforts and wisdom of the Hashemites and the resolve and sacrifices of its people.
"The state, which was built by the Hashemite fathers and grandfathers, is a role model in the management of scarce resources, as Jordan has, with little resources, made many achievements," he said during a special event by local radio stations that will provide coverage of the Kingdom's centennial celebrations.
All Jordanians can be proud of the achievements and the first statesmen who offered sacrifices for the country," he said during the event, which was organized by Radio Jordan.
Al-Ayed, who is also the government official spokesman, said that the centenary celebrations' programme, which the government unveiled on Saturday, will be implemented the year round and will include five main themes that highlight the historical milestones the Kingdom had witnesses.
He said that the festivities also include national declarations, including the announcement that April 11 this year will be a national day marking the country's centenary, and April 16 of every year a national flag day.
