Ammon News - Minister of Health, Nathir Obeidat, said that receiving the anti-coronavirus vaccine will have a great impact on improving the epidemiological situation, and it will have a good and important effect on the behavior of the virus, stressing that vaccinations were found for the sake of human health.

"Vaccines were found to immunize people from diseases, which is a fact that cannot be changed," Obeidat said in a press conference held Sunday at the Prime Ministry.

Obeidat gave an overview of vaccines and the beginning of human receipt of vaccines, which had a significant impact in eliminating some of the most dangerous diseases.

He stressed that the government has no goal except the interest of the citizens and the homeland, and that there is no personal interest for anyone in the government, as the world is tired of the virus and must be addressed in all ways, calling for avoiding rumors.

In response to a question during the press conference on the details of the vaccine (Sinopharm), Obaidat confirmed that all the information and details related to the study are available with the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), after the manufacturer had sent the results to the JFDA which had studied them for three weeks before the vaccine was approved, indicating that the vaccine does not mean the end of the virus, but citizens must adhere to wearing a mask, follow the utmost caution, and use various means of prevention.

On the available quantities, the Minister of Health said that the contracted quantities are sufficient for 20 percent of citizens, and there is no ceiling for these quantities in case there is a demand for them, explaining that every week a batch of (Pfizer) vaccine will be delivered until the contracted quantity is complete.

He confirmed that the first batch of the Pfizer vaccine will arrive on Monday.

Obaidat indicated that Jordan had signed agreements with "AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson" and the UAE company responsible for distributing the Chinese "Sinopharm" vaccine, in addition to Jordan's participation in the "COVAX" coalition, which aims to provide vaccines to 189 countries in the world, where the Kingdom will have a share according to the allocated program, calling on citizens to register to take the vaccine and not to pay attention to rumors that are circulating about the coronavirus vaccine.

Secretary General of the Health Ministry for epidemiological affairs and the official in charge of the COVID-19 crisis, Wael Hayajneh, said there are 29 centers in all governorates of the Kingdom to start the vaccination process as of Wednesday.
