The Ministry of Interior has urged citizens to adhere to defense orders and instructions, which ban holding gatherings in all their forms in a number exceeding 20 people, aimed to curb the outbreak.
Moreover, the gov't anti-Covid-19 measures stress adherence to social distancing and wearing face masks, as penalties are in place to deter the flouters.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said, in light of the drop in the virus-related infections, fatalities rates, and the government's plans to reopen some economic sectors in a "balanced, gradual and safe" manner, adherence to preventive measures has become an "urgent" necessity to ensure that Jordan's epidemiological situation remains "under control and continues to improve."
The ministry will take all legal and administrative measures against defense orders violators, who jeopardize citizens' health and safety, by holding illegal gatherings, or commit practices that contribute to the virus transmission, the statement pointed out.
