Health Ministry organizes training workshop on anti-coronavirus vaccines

Ammon News - The Health Ministry on Monday organized a training workshop for workers in charge of the vaccination from various health sectors, on giving the anti-coronavirus vaccines.

The workshop, held in cooperation with the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM), focused on spreading and increasing awareness on the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine, as well as the possibility of communicating with target groups and follow-up on them after receiving the vaccine, and procedures to be followed in case side effects appear.

Assistant Secretary-General for Primary Health Care at the ministry, Ghazi Sharkas, told the Jordan news Agency (Petra) that the training course, held with the participation of experts from various health sectors, is of significant importance, in order to provide the necessary training for those in charge of administering the vaccine.

"It also focuses on conveying a message of reassurance to citizens and that the Health Ministry cares about the smallest details and sees the vaccination a very important and pivotal process that must be executed with great professionalism," Sharkas added.

He indicated that the workshop included clarifying the mechanism for using the electronic application dedicated to registering for vaccines and explaining the registration process, as well as providing training on storing the vaccine, detailed steps for administering the vaccine according to identified priorities, educating citizens and refuting rumors and misconceptions about vaccines.

Sharkas called on citizens to register in the online application to book their vaccine doses.

Specialists highlighted basics of dealing with vaccines, the necessary equipment to administer the vaccine, knowledge of cold chains, temperature monitoring, and handling and disposal of waste from vaccination waste.

The workshops, which cover theory and practice, will span over eight days, with six training hours per day, to include about 500 participants.
