Harvard professor says Earth 'already visited by alien in 2017' with more coming

Ammon News - Academic Professor Avi Loeb thinks garbage from another civilisation some 25 light-years away came past our planet and thinks it is proof there is something else out there.

A Harvard professor claims an alien already visited Earth in 2017 – and believes more are on the way.

Avi Loeb, who runs the Department of Astronomy at one of the world's most prestigious universities, reckons he has found some rubbish belonging to another civilisation.

He claims an object travelled towards Earth's solar system from the direction of Vega, a nearby 25 some 25 light-years away, and intercepted our solar system's orbital plane on September 6, 2017.

Writing in his upcoming book Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth, he claims the space object shot past Earth before "moving swiftly toward the constellation Pegasus and the blackness beyond".

The object was first spotted by an observatory on the island of Hawaii containing the panoramic survey telescope, the highest definition telescope available.

The space object was dubbed "Oumuamua", which is Hawaiian for "scout".

At first scientists thought it was an ordinary comet, but Professor Loeb said that assumption ran the risk of allowing "the familiar to define what we might discover".

He said: "What would happen if a caveman saw a cellphone? He's seen rocks all his life, and he would have thought it was just a shiny rock."

Despite some in the community ridiculing his theory, Professor Loeb stands by it, and is confident more similar discoveries will be made in the near future.

He said: "Some people do not want to discuss the possibility that there are other civilisations out there.

"They believe we are special and unique. I think it’s a prejudice that should be abandoned.

"If we are not alone, are we the smartest kids on the block? If there was a species that eliminated itself through war or changing the climate, we can get our act together and behave better. Instead, we are wasting a lot of resources on Earth fighting each other and other negative things that are a big waste.”
