Security plans to be implemented during Christmas celebrations

Ammon News - Director of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), Major General Hussein Hawatmeh, lauded PSD personnel's role in maintaining security and stability and enforcing the law.

Speaking in a security meeting, Hawatmeh said police deployment and security plans implementation to start in conjunction with Christmas and New Year's celebrations, as of today until the end of all celebrations.

He stressed the need to implement the established security and traffic plans at churches and strengthen the security deployment around them, as well as enforcing defense orders, prevent gatherings, monitor adherence to social distancing and public safety measures.

"In parallel with those plans, necessary security measures must be taken in coordination with the Ministry of Education with the start of the Tawjihi's (the general secondary education certificate examination) complementary session for the year 2020/2021 in a manner that ensures holding it without any violations and in accordance with anti-coronavirus health requirements and protocols," Hawatmeh indicated.

The police chief was briefed by his assistance for operations on security plans and procedures that were put in place to deal with these tasks with the participation of PSD's various formations and units.
