Ammon News -

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday inaugurated the Amman Field Hospital for COVID-19 patients.

King Abdullah toured the facility, which was built in 30 days, has the capacity of 408 beds including 84 intensive care unit beds and covers an area of 6,800 square metres on the grounds of the Prince Hamzah Hospital.

His Majesty listened to a briefing by Health Minister Nathir Obeidat, who said the ministry is working to open three other field hospitals in Irbid, Maan, and Aqaba.

The minister added that the four hospitals will have the combined capacity of 1,174 beds, including 248 ICU beds.

The Amman Field Hospital is the third COVID-19 hospital to be inaugurated, after the King recently opened two military field hospitals in Zarqa and Irbid.
